| ANNA FORD'S DOG SHOW - Anna will be holding a Companion Dog Show on Sunday 13th July 2008 at Haddiscoe Village Hall, Great Yarmouth, in aid of ESSW. Entries taken from 10.00am, with all the classes you'd expect, five pedigree, 15 novelty and 3 handling for children and adults, puppies to veterans. Carolyn Muirhead and Pat Leslie will be judging. Home-made refreshments including bacon rolls, burgers, ploughman's, salads and strawberry teas will be available. There will also be a raffle for which 100 quality prizes have been donated. | PATRONS - It is with regret that we announce that Mr Terry Waite has resigned his position with Welfare, and we thank him for his support. It is with pleasure that we announce a new patron, Maj-Gen John Badcock CB MBE DL. John has owned Springer Spaniels since he and his late wife Gillian were married in 1948 when their first was given as a wedding present. Their Frenchgate kennel has produced some influential breeding stock and all their dogs were dual purpose, both shown and worked to the gun. Over the years they owned 18 dogs and John still enjoys the company of two. John has had a distinguished career in the Army, has hosted with Gillian several English Springer fun days at their home near Canterbury, and retains a great love for the breed and its welfare. |

| The Grand Summer Draw made a profit of £1,414.50, so thanks to everyone who bought a ticket. The prize winners were 1st Dr Rathi Siva of London, 2nd Mrs J Powell of Chochester, 3rd Miss Newboult of Solihull, 4th Miss J Grass of Chudleigh, and 5th Mr & Mrs Fitzgibbon of Blakeney. Thanks to those of you who donated your prize money back to us. |

| The AGM was held on Sunday 25th March 2007 at Caterham in Surrey where the audited accounts for the year ending 31st December 2006 were presented. The following officers were re-elected: Celia Woodbridge as Chairman, John Griffiths as Treasurer, Sarah Baldock as Secretary, Joni Gallagher as Membership Secretary, and Liz Austin as National Co-ordinator. Chris Murphy was elected as Deputy National Co-ordinator, and Jocelynne Thomas and Nigel Clarke as Fundraising Officers. Susan Mackenzie and Sarah Penycate were re-elected to the Committee. Steve Savage has stood down from the Committee due to relocation. A full report will be printed in the next newsletter. |
